Our Rangers and Community Safety teams work together to keep Mandurah safe, clean, and accessible. We work closely with the community to manage everything from pet ownership and local fire safety to parking and litter control. Our team is here to provide advice, ensure local laws are followed, and support a vibrant, connected city.
Animal Management: Helping you register your pets, managing lost or wandering animals to keep them safe, and addressing animal nuisance.
Fire Prevention: Working with residents to prepare for fire seasons and manage fire hazards on private property.
Parking & Abandoned Vehicles: Ensuring parking is fair and accessible for everyone, while addressing abandoned vehicles to keep our streets clean.
Local Laws: Managing litter, off-road vehicles, and monitoring behaviour and activities in public places.
You can register your pet online for the quickest service, or in person at the Administration Building or Falcon Library.

Release Fees: To bring your pet home, you must pay the impound fee first. Additional daily charges also apply for boarding.
Registration: Animals must be registered and microchipped before they can be released. Cats must also be sterilised.
While our Rangers are here to help with domestic pets and livestock, they do not handle or relocate wild animals.

Snake Removal: Contact a licensed snake catcher if you have a snake on your property that needs to be safely relocated.

The safety of our community and the welfare of animals are our top priorities. Our Rangers are available to assist with domestic animals and livestock that may be causing a nuisance or safety risk.
Reporting: If you find a stray animal or wish to report an aggressive encounter, contact the City on 9550 3777.

Report a wandering or nuisance animal
Rangers conduct annual inspections of all properties in the district to check for fire hazards.
All home owners are required to install firebreaks or clear land by November 17, and maintain the land until May 31 the following year in accordance with the Fire Compliance Notice.
Burning of garden waste is not permitted in Mandurah unless you have a valid permit.
Fire pits and solid fuel cooking equipment can be used but only under strict conditions.
Rangers monitor parking including safety around our schools and city centre to ensure the safe flow of traffic. We investigate vehicles parked on verges without permission, blocking footpaths, or parked in "No Stopping" zones.
Safety & Access: Illegal parking can block access for emergency services and make our footpaths unsafe for people with disabilities.
Action: You can report parking issues online or call our team for immediate assistance.
A vehicle is generally considered abandoned if it is unregistered or has been left in a public place for more than 24 hours.
Information we need: Please note the vehicle's make, model, color, and license plate number.
Our Process: Once reported, our Rangers will investigate and, if necessary, arrange for the vehicle to be towed.

Payment of applicable fees is required prior to the release of your vehicle.
Dumping rubbish on verges, in bushland, or at park entries is illegal and harms our environment.
The Rule: If you see someone dumping rubbish, chemicals, etc please note the date, time, and vehicle registration if it is safe to do so.
Large Items: Do not attempt to move heavy or hazardous dumped items yourself.
In the City of Mandurah, it is unlawful to camp, sleep overnight, or erect tents and similar structures on local government property without a permit, and doing so may lead to enforcement action.
City Property: Report camping in public places to the City on 9550 3777.
Private Property: While we don't remove campers from private property, our Health team work with property owners to manage squatters.
