Libraries

You can become a member of Mandurah Libraries by bringing in a document that shows your name and current permanent address. For members under the age of 18, a parent or guardian's signature is needed.

If you wish to place a reservation on an item or access e-resources you can complete a temporary online membership. You will have to visit the library to show your I.D. and collect your membership card within four weeks. You will be given a temporary membership number which you can use when you are reserving items or accessing e-resources.

Mandurah Libraries has six types of memberships:

1. Adult memberships for people over the age of 18
2. Young adult memberships for people between the ages of 13 and 17
3. Junior memberships for children from birth to 12 years
4. Unconfirmed address - this limits the borrower to 5 items.
5. Home library service memberships for people who are housebound 
6. Book club memberships

Borrow items

Borrow up to 20 items. All items are available to borrow for four weeks except for Magazines and DVDs which can be borrowed for two weeks. 

Items available for loan:

• Adult literacy material
• Audio books on CD, MP3 and Play-Away
• Books in languages other than English 
• CDs and DVDs
• Discovery Backpacks with books, toys and activities on different themes
• eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines
• Fiction and nonfiction books for adults and children
• Graphic novels for adults and young adults
• First Nations collection
• Large print books 
• Local history collection
• Magazines 
• Make with Me kits with a picture book and activity 
• Parenting information collection 
• Storybook Bags

Public Computers

You can use your library card and password to logon to the public computers for up to two hours per day at Mandurah Library, Falcon Library and Community Centre, and Lakelands Library and Community Centre. Printing services are self-service and can be sent to the printer from the public computers. 

WiFi

Mandurah has free citywide WiFi. Access the WiFi at the libraries by selecting Mandurah WiFi on your laptop, tablet or smart phone.

Printing and photocopying

You can print from the public computers, or photocopy at Mandurah Library, Falcon Library and Community Centre, and Lakelands Library and Community Centre.

Scanning

You can scan documents and save them to a thumb drive or email them at Mandurah Library, Falcon Library and Community Centre, and Lakelands Library and Community Centre. Scanning is free.

Respect each other: Treat everyone with kindness and consideration. We value diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.

Look after our space: Help us keep the library clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone. Please use furniture, equipment, and resources with care.

Share the space: Be mindful of noise and personal space. Use headphones for audio, and keep conversations at a friendly volume.

Be inclusive: Use language and behaviour that is welcoming and supportive. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind is not accepted.

Follow library guidelines: Please follow staff instructions and library policies, including borrowing rules and computer use.

Children and young people: We are a child safe organisation. Children are welcome and valued. If you’re under 13, please bring a parent or carer with you.

Safety first: If you see something unsafe or need help, let our staff know straight away.

Our staff are here to support you. If you have questions or need assistance, just ask. We want everyone to feel comfortable and included.

If your behaviour makes anyone feel unsafe, you may be asked to leave, and in serious cases, the matter could be referred to the police.

This Code of Conduct applies to every library member, community member, Council member, volunteer, visitor, and employee of the City of Mandurah.

Bring your library card and select the items you wish to borrow at Mandurah Library, Falcon Library and Community Centre or Lakelands Library and Community Centre. Issue your items at our self-issue kiosks. Up to 20 items can be borrowed on each membership. You can also use your library membership number to access a range of online resources.

Renew your items from anywhere using our online library catalogue. 

• Login using your membership card number and password.
• View your current loans and select the items you would like to renew
• Click on options and then renew selections
• All items that can be renewed will display a new due date. Any items that can’t be renewed will show up in red. These items will need to be returned to your library.

Alternatively, visit, email or call any Mandurah Libraries branch to renew your items.

To find items available through Mandurah Libraries:

• Login to the online library catalogue, using your library card number and password.
• Find the item on the catalogue by doing a quick or advanced search
• Click on the title of the item from your search list to see the full details
• Click on place reservation at the top of the screen
• Select your pick-up location
• Click on continue and a reservation placed screen will show.
